This easy protein balls recipe is great for when you are craving something sweet and need a quick energy source. The peanut butter and pecans are a great source of protein. And the Flax seed adds a great source of omega-3 fatty acids. They may be small but they are very filling and satisfying. Each ball contains about 100 calories so be careful to limit the amount you consume.
Ingredients
• 1/4 cup ground flax seed
• 1/2 cup chopped pecans
• 1/2 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
• 1/2 cup peanut butter
• 1/4 cup agave
•1 1/2 cup of rolled oats
Mix all ingredients together and form into 1 tablespoon balls. Place on a baking sheet and freeze until solid. I recommend storing them in the freezer, but they can be stored in the refrigerator as well.
This recipe makes about 20 balls.
