Eat to Lose Weight

Focus on Adding Foods instead of avoiding them to lose weight!

This may sound like a crazy notion or an unbelievable strategy for weight loss but I have found it to be very successful. This time of year people are often very focused on different diets to help them lose the extra pounds that appeared over the holidays. I am not a big fan of “diets” because they often focus on limiting the foods you can eat. Often focusing on the things you can’t have causes you to want them even more. That is one of the reasons many people end up gaining more weight after being on a diet. A “diet” is also often seen as a temporary step to lose some weight and then move on. This is completely understandable when your “diet” restricts many of the foods you love. I don’t blame anyone for not wanting to make this kind of “diet” a permanent change to their lives. Instead of focusing on all of the things that you shouldn’t be eating I encourage you to focus on some of the great foods you should consume. By adding healthy foods to your diet you are not only increasing your metabolism, you are increasing the amount of nutrients you are consuming and making it more likely that you will not have room for some of the not so healthy foods you are eating.
