The goal for this total body workout is to build strength while keeping your heart rate elevated. This will increase the amount of calories you burn and give you a more effective workout.
Challenge yourself by using a heavy enough weight that you should feel that it is difficult to complete the number of repetitions given. There are no rest periods in this workout but take a rest if you need one. Have fun, listen to your body and challenge it to improve.
A superset is a form of strength training in which you move quickly from one exercise to a different exercise without taking a break for rest between the two exercises. This superset workout is a little different than most superset workouts because I chose to include three exercises instead of the traditional two.
Each round of this total body workout is designed to focus on one key area of your body. I chose exercises that would complement each other in each round.
- Round 1- Lower Body- Glutes, Quads and Hamstrings
- Round 2- Upper Body – Chest / Biceps, Triceps and Shoulders
- Round 3 – Core – Lower Back, Lower Abdominals and Obliques / Upper Abdominals
