Here is a band and bodyweight resistance workout with a cardio component. And it is very simple to complete at home. All you need is a set of resistance bands. Resistance bands are a very cost-effective way to build your home gym. I highly recommend the investment even if you normally perform your workouts at the gym. By having these items in your home, you have NO excuses to skip your workout if you cannot get to the gym.
Resistance bands have many benefits and are superior to weights for many reasons.
- Most cost way less then you would pay for a set of weights.
- They are easy to transport. ( You can take them with you if you travel).
- They offer more versatility. Weights rely on gravity to provide resistance. Bands allow you to perform many exercises that would be very difficult using gravity alone.
- Resistance bands have variable resistance, This means that the resistance changes depending on how much the band is stretched. This creates greater neuromuscular coordination, motor unit recruitment, and improvements in strength.
- They target small muscles and provide you with constant tension while performing your exercises.
